Aurora Ecosystem

  1. Aurora’s Original Vision and Current Status
Aurora was initially designed as a bridge between Near and other ecosystems, as well as a layer 2 solution on top of Near Protocol, where it was expected to play a leading role in chain abstraction. The focus on real world businesses has yet to yield the anticipated results. According to Aurora’s Head of Marketing, only two solutions have been sold in the last two years. This direction clearly requires reassessment, especially considering that no new case studies have been added to the website for over a year, and the “case studies” section remains marked as “coming soon.” Currently, @Alex stands out as the key revenue driver for Aurora, gracefully and successfully securing the latest contract with Near Foundation.

  2. Marketing Strategy in Need of Revamp
Aurora’s marketing strategy also requires significant changes. The website has not been updated with new projects for an extended period, and content is posted inconsistently and often contains errors. Project names, like “Forwarder,” are challenging to interpret across different languages, diminishing their appeal. Additionally, the continuing decline in Aurora’s token value highlights the urgency of developing a new strategy for engaging both investors and the community. At present, Aurora’s marketing closely mirrors the approach of Near Foundation, lacking the unique elements needed to stand out from other projects.

  3. Communication and Transparency
Communication and transparency are crucial for restoring trust in the project. Regular AMA sessions, articles, and updates must become core components of how Aurora engages with its community. The example of Near Protocol demonstrates that reducing ineffective teams and shifting developers into focused business units can be a practical step for improving operations. Streamlining Aurora’s team structure would help the organization focus on key objectives and allocate resources more efficiently.

  4. Focus on Strengths
Aurora should capitalize on its strengths, such as its integration with Bitcoin and its solutions for Web3, especially those emphasizing fast and low-cost transactions. Relaunching Aurora’s DAO, with a strong emphasis on marketing and active community involvement, could be a significant step toward attracting new participants and supporting ecosystem projects. Aurora is part of two important committees—Infrastructure and Events—where it has the chance to take on a leadership role rather than staying passive. This involvement could really help drive ecosystem and community forward!

  5. Potential Rebranding and Business Strategy
Aurora may also benefit from considering a rebranding effort and spinning off its business unit into a separate, self-sustaining entity. A stronger focus on projects like Defuse, continued collaboration with Near Foundation, and the launch of a well-defined ambassador program could be pivotal tools for future growth. Securing venture capital (VC) backing and introducing a new token that combines Aurora and Vote tokens.

  6. Adopting New Trends
Finally, Aurora should not overlook current trends, such as TAP to earn applications in Telegram, which have proven to be highly effective marketing and community engagement tools but have yet to be utilized by Aurora.
