Hello Aurora community!
Its a good day and time to make our intentions known.
As earlier stated in Enquiry/suggestion for African countries the intention of these events is to toaster knowledge, and growth of Aurora in Africa.
What are the targets of this guild?

  1. Local offline events for educating newbies and crypto enthusiasts of Aurora
  2. Online events to reach the online communities
  3. Hackathons to introduce intending web3 builders to Aurora and subsequently build on the ecosystem.
  4. Social media handles to continually educate the communities about Aurora and enable other communities reach us.
  5. Educational materials
  6. Working with African influencers

HOW DO WE INTEND TO START THIS?
A. Given my experience with community management and involvement with startups in growing communities, organic communities is best and we have chosen our first offline event as a means to begin a New community with organic growth to add to this group…group is opener for all to join

All team members will join the forum soon and list will be updated with their usernames. Also, we expand to involve people from other African countries also. By this, we call on any African here to indicate interest as team is decentralised and open for all people

FUTURE OFFLINE EVENTS SHALL COMPRISE;

  1. Education about Aurora
  2. Onboarding community members into the ecosystem.
  3. Creation of materials for future education.
  4. Creation of sub country communities to spread fast and effectively the knowledge of Aurora
  5. Give little Funding to these Sub country communities for local events.

B. COLLABORATION WITH OTHER EXISTING BLOCKCHAIN COMMUNITIES IN AFRICA
We shall extend collaboration to reach other African countries to grow much more faster and productively…

METRICS TO MEASURE SUCCESS

  1. All social media handles fully functional after first event, with educational material include.

A. Twitter: 100 followers monthly through offline events(one each month) Twitter space etc(at least two each month for a start)/account Management---------$500*2=$1000 (@Omotola as mod)

B. Telegram Management/100 group members monthly with activities such as AMA, trivia quiz, etc----$500*2=$1000 (@Raf and @Arinsmart as Mod)

C. Medium page/Youtube: at least three educational contents monthly/management: $500*2=$1000 (To be opened prior to event) (@Mimichinaza as mod)

D. Sponsorship funds to partner with other web3/blockchain communities to foster growth and expansion: $500*2=$1000.

ALL AMOUNTS FOR SOCIAL MEDIA CHANNELS SHALL BE USED FOR EVENTS ON THE CHANNELS SUCH AS QUIZ, BOUNTIES, AMA AND THE MODS

  1. Having projects from Africa building on Aurora (This is our main target)

Funding shall be done bi-monthly to help us plan, and carry out all activities successfully. We begin initial funding with two months to help us strategies properly

Monthly reports shall be submitted on the forum with receipts, photos, videos and educational materials.

OUR MAJOR FOCUS IS BRINGING OFF CHAIN COMMUNITIES ON CHAIN.

Total funding required will be $4000 for TWO MONTHS
$2000 for August
$2000 for September

It’s really good what the Near Ecosystem is building with all of these!!.. All these collaborations with other projects is what makes it stand out from other Ecosystems, and the Aurora Project won’t be an exception. We taking it to the :full_moon:.

But in Aurora, you can create as many wallets as you want with Metamask, and you can get free transactions with Aurora+. :roll_eyes:
How does this help to promote the Aurora Network?

Do you have developers who know Solidity for courses like this?

With all due respect, but it seems to me this proposal resembles a copy/paste from a NEAR forum.

Yes, you are right. That is possible which I use it too. Aurora is built on NEAR and I feel having newbies know of NEAR and Aurora combined using the NEAR wallet for a start is best.

It does not mean all other aspects of getting them used to Aurora and the ‘necessary’ projects like rainbow bridge isn’t important.

We have a developer in the team and as a community, it’s the target to reach out to more guys who are even better.

IMHO, but more people on NEAR already know about Aurora.
And we should try to target the audience from other sources.

Aurora provides a similar developer experience to Ethereum on top of the NEAR protocol. Aurora’s EVM compatibility ensures that any project built there can be easily transferred to Ethereum, without having to change a single line of code.

And the goal is to bring people from other EVM networks like Ethereum into the Aurora space to deploy their projects, and there would be a user base for those projects.

A developer with Rust for NEAR, and a developer with Solidity for an EVM environment are completely different developers.

NEAR and Aurora also are completely different things, as for developers and as for the user experience.

At its core, Aurora addresses the scalability challenges that the Ethereum mainnet faces, while providing Ethereum developers and users a smoother onboarding experience to the NEAR ecosystem.

Yes, you are right.
This is the target. Getting people from elsewhere (other ecosystem and or new entrepreneurs and devs entirely) into the system.

The idea of wallets is just a side note for onboarding and granting an experience for the audience.

The primary thing observed in the introduction is using the experience gained from NEAR.

This I agree with you.

The overall idea for us is to introduce and call the attention of new people to the Aurora project.

It is for this fact that we have this in bold letters. The collaborations isn’t with communities within the NEAR ecosystem but different communities altogether. There are generally web3 hubs, blockchain hubs etc. These are the target collaborations.

Also, key thing to note is how aside educating enthusiasts about the ecosystem, and having them find their way, we go in search and present the building possibilities for projects in ideation or startup stages.

Hello @israel_igboze, would you like to launch the Aurora Africa guild? If so, could you please update your proposal (dedicated Aurora social media ( Twitter, telegram, AMA’s, meet-ups, articles on Medium, work with local influences, and YouTubers, etc.)?
